About the event
About the event!
We all know about the hugely negative impact of fast fashion waste - the industry is responsible for nearly 10% of global carbon emissions (Earth.org). As well as being conscious of our consumption of clothes, we can also be careful about our accessories - how we buy them and how we dispose of them. Local small business, SustainaBeads, aims to rescue and recycle unwanted jewellery via the resale and upcycling of materials donated for recycling.
Join founder and owner, Cat, as she guides you through how to make your own professionally finished upcycled bracelets using reclaimed beads and charms in glass, ceramic, plastic and more in all the colours of the rainbow! You’ll learn how to size your bracelets and knot them so that they last.
What shall I bring? All materials will be provided but if you or someone in your family have beaded items or other jewellery you’d like to donate for recycling, please feel free to bring them with you. Cat aims to reuse as much as possible to make new jewellery and where that's not possible, other items may be resold or broken up for other crafts.
What does it cost? £10 per child and you can make as many bracelets as you wish within the two hour session!
RSVP today as spaces are limited :)
Recommended age 4+ (not suitable for under 3s due to small parts)
